Within (a poem)

April 24, 2017

I've wrestled

in my own skin

pouring out the contents within

and casting it off

casting each time

a version of a new self.

Have I arrived?

Will I ever

come to terms with myself?

An epic war

contained in members of dirt

feeble hands

unmentionable weakness

a deep reckoning beneath thinning skin.

Breathe in

reconcile

I am.
